Alex Cogley

I have a few hats; partner, mum, daughter, sister, friend, yoga teacher, reflexologist, corporate manager and Lifeline councillor. I love each and every one of my hats. Originally from the UK I moved in my mid 20’s to the Northern Beaches in 1997, for a year… and I’m still here on the Beaches!

What led you to yoga?
I’d tried a class in London, but it wasn’t until, by mistake, I stumbled into a Bikram studio in Freshwater in 1998 that yoga found me. Turning up in tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie I had no idea it was going to be heated! Think I stayed bright red for 24hrs. It gave me a taste, that before and after feeling – like nothing else,  then I started to explore all types of yoga in Sydney and around the world…

What inspires your teaching?
So many incredible teachers, but right now I’m loving observing nature, people, and soon to be studying with Dr Swami Shankardev Saraswati.

Where will we find you off the mat?
With 3 kids and 2 energetic dogs, usually juggling school, sports, work, home stuff and bush walking the dogs. But when it’s all about me you’ll find me dancing, reading and enjoying a sunrise on the beach.
